Hemorrhoids Laser Surgery
Hemorrhoids are truly not a good thing to have. It causes pain,
discomfort, and hassles. The occurrence of hemorrhoids is usually caused by the congestion of blood vessels
around the anal canal due to too much pressure around the anal tissue. Symptoms of hemorrhoids involve pain,
itching, bleeding and discharges (mucus).
There are lots of ways intreating hemorrhoids – there are the non-surgical methods and those
that involve incisions and surgery. Among the treatments, the hemorrhoids laser surgery is probably the most
effective and least hassle kind of hemorrhoids relief treatment.
From the word itself, hemorrhoids laser surgery makes use of laser in getting rid of
hemorrhoids. It has been proven already in the field of medicine that laser is one of the best tools in
treating diseases, including hemorrhoids. In hemorrhoids laser surgery, a special laser beam is utilized to
burn away those tissues around the canal anal that caused the extensive swelling. This kind of treatment,
though, requires a well-skilled surgeon who can pinpoint laser light to affected areas with accuracy and
precision.
As an alternative to surgery or natural mode of treatment, the hemorrhoids laser surgery is
taken by some patients of hemorrhoids as one of the best treatment for hemorrhoids. Accordingly, hemorrhoids
laser surgery is an effective, easy, and safe method in treating hemorrhoids. There are two kinds of laser
beam lights for treating hemorrhoids – wide beam is used for removing huge amount of tissue, and narrow beam is
being used mostly as a cutting tool. Doctors also make use of a carbon dioxide laser in treating patients
with hemorrhoids.
There are, however, both advantages and disadvantages in hemorrhoids laser surgery.
The Advantages of Laser Treatment:
- Some doctors claimed that using laser surgery is very advantageous in treating
hemorrhoids because their patients did not experience intense pain during the treatment, and they were just at ease
all throughout the procedure. Also, patients who were treated through laser surgery did not have many
complaints after (the post-operation effect).
- Laser tool allows for rapid and impaired healing of the treated area in the anal
canal.
- This is an out-patient hemorrhoids treatment procedure. One does not have to
check-in to the hospital.
- Laser beam tends to cut tissue with no bleeding. It, at the same time, also seals
superficial nerve endings rapidly.
- Less damage to surrounding tissue of the “cut area.”
- It helps the doctor in conducting a clean and precise surgery because it does not have
smoke or steam emission that can distract the vision and concentration of the doctor during the surgery.
The disadvantages of using a laser beam than a surgical scalpel:
- It is expensive. Hemorrhoids laser surgery, just like any other laser treatment
methods, involve the cashing out of quite an amount of money. Aside from the use of expensive laser equipment
and tools, doctor’s fee is also expensive.
- There are other alternatives that can treat hemorrhoids without spending so much like
that of laser treatment. The use of adrenaline solution has just the same result that of the laser.
- High fire risk. The use of laser beam lights might lead to (applies only to cases
wherein doctors are being careless) or welcomes the risk of fire during the operation.
